Karnataka assembly nod for JV for gas distribution network for Bengaluru

Karnataka assembly has approved the formation of a JV to execute City Gas Distribution (CGD) network in the state.

The CGD network will provide fuel to the households and CNG  vehicles throughout the state.

Law and Parliamentary Minister T B Jayachandra reported the approval of JV formed by GAIL India and Karnataka State Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (KSIIDC) for CGD for Bengaluru households and fuel for CNG- run vehicles.

Jayachandra added, with the share capital of Rs 100 crore the new JV Karnataka Natural Gas Limited (KNGL) will also set up CGD network in the major cities and towns across the state where the Dabhol-Bengaluru gas pipeline alignment passes through.

The minister also informed, KSIIDC and GAIL will have 25 and 75 percent stake respectively.

The minister confirmed the completion of the gas pipeline laid between Dabhol in Maharashtra to Bidadi in Bengaluru.

KGNL with the consent, will plan the project ahead.

The Dabhol-Bengaluru gas pipeline project spur lines to Gokak, Ratnagiri, Kolhapur, Sangli, Bijapur, Dharwad, Davangere, Harihar and Tumkur.
